DAY 2 - PARIS & CHAMPAGNE Meet your driver in the lobby of your hotel for a transfer to the rail station. Today you will be taking a train to Reims in the Champagne region. Arriving in the Champagne region, you start your day with a sightseeing of Reims. City of coronation, Reims is also the city of Champagne, definitely the most celebrated and festive of wines! You will enjoy the sight of the Reims Grandes Maisons de Champagne: Veuve Cliquot, Taittinger, Pommery, etc., many names that will make you think of a great party or a romantic dinner with a glass of champagne… And you are going to have more than one! DAY 4 - BURGUNDY Enjoy breakfast and then your driver will take you to the rail station for your journey to Dijon. Once in Dijon the Captain of your barge will meet you with the vessel name on the train platform. He will assist with your luggage and take you to your barge. You will be met at the agreed meeting point and travel in air-conditioned comfort, moored on the Canal de Bourgogne. You will be welcomed aboard by the captain and the crew with champagne, the tone will be set for your memorable cruise in Burgundy. You will have time to settle into your lovely cabins and explore the barge before your first candlelit dinner on board during which you will be introduced to regional specialties and local wines. |

DAY 5 - BURGUNDY This morning the delights of Dijon await you. This city offers so much more than the eponymous mustard. Take a walk around the Les Halles market admiring the metal and glass architecture designed by Gustave Eiffel. Absorb the culture in the Musée des Beaux-Arts, one of France’s oldest museums, which can be found within the stunning medieval centre. Dijon city, Palais des Ducs. DAY 6 - BURGUNDY This morning’s voyage will take you to Plombières les Dijon where you will disembark for a drive through the Route des Grands Crus vineyards of Burgundy. Your tour will culminate with a wine tasting at the Château de Marsannay, renowned not only for its exceptional red and white Burgundies, but also for some of the finest, most succulent rosé in France. This will be followed by a visit to the Fromagerie Gaugry: specialists in the production of washed rind soft cheeses, and the last cheese makers still producing raw milk Epoisses.
