Monday
Cruise to Fleurey-sur-Ouche, Visit Clos de Vougeot
Leaving Dijon, the canal follows the river Ouche where small-unspoiled villages and green, forested hills provide exceptional views from the deck. Spend the morning walking, or perhaps cycling along the tow path. This afternoon's excursion is a dégustation in Vougeot and a visit to "Clos de Vougeot", a medieval château and the headquarters of the Chevaliers du Tastevin, the famous Burgundian wine society. The chateau still contains the ancient wine presses used by Cistercian monks. The barge moors for the night in the small village of Fleurey-sur-Ouche.
 
Tuesday
Cruise to Gisse sur Ouche, Visit Dijon
After a wonderful French style breakfast, your guide takes you on a walking tour of historic Dijon including a visit to the Ducal Palace, the market and the Grey Poupon mustard shop. Enjoy some free time for shopping at the many wonderful shops in town, or perhaps just sit in one of the numerous pavement cafés and simply watch the world go by. Return to the boat for lunch and an afternoon's cruise to the charming village of Gissey. This is a truly stunning part of the canal, sit back and watch the beautiful scenery glide by.
 
Wednesday
Cruise to La Bussière sur Ouche, Visit Châteauneuf en Auxois
Mid-morning, disembark the boat for a visit to l'Abbaye de la Bussière, which was built in the 12th century under the guidance of the Cistercian monks from Citeaux. Enjoy a tour of the grounds and have lunch in the one Michelin star restaurant. In the afternoon, a short drive takes us to the charming hilltop village of Chateauneuf en Auxois, where we can visit the 12th century castle and take in the splendid views over the surrounding countryside. Return to the barge in the early evening in La Bussiere.
 
Thursday
 Cruise to Pont d'Ouche, Visit Beaune
Relax with a morning cruise through the rolling hills of the Ouche Valley to Pont d'Ouche. After lunch visit Beaune, capital of the wine region of Burgundy and home to the famousHôtel-Dieu, a magnificent 15th century charity hospital. There is free time for shopping or strolling through the cobbled streets of this lovely town. Sample some of the local wines before returning to the barge.
 
Friday
Cruise to Vandenesse en Auxois, Visit Chateau de Pommard
Our final cruise of the week takes us to the countryside mooring of Vandenesse en Auxois, then after lunch visit Chateau de Pommard, a splendid estate set amongst the vines of the Cote de Beaune. Enjoy a private tour of the cellars and a tasting as well as taking in the fine art exhibition. Meanwhile the chef is preparing your farewell gala dinner on board.

Monday
Cruise to Fleurey-sur-Ouche, Visit Clos de Vougeot
This morning we leave the barge after breakfast to drive down the famous route des grands crus, passing through the celebrated villages of the Cote d'or. A stop in Vougeot allows us to visit the celebrated Clos de Vougeot vineyard and Chateau where the Cistercian monks first started making wine in the 12 th century. The medieval chateau still contains the ancient presses and is now the headquarters of the renowned Burgundian wine society, the Confrerie de Chevaliers de Tastevin. Return to the barge outside Dijon for an afternoon cruise to the countryside village of Longecourt, with chances to walk or cycle alongside.
 
Tuesday
Visit Dijon, Cruise to St. Jean de Losne
After breakfast, enjoy a walking tour of Dijon including a visit to the market, the Grey Poupon mustard shop and the Ducal Palace, seat of the great medieval dukes of Burgundy. There will be some free time for shopping or perhaps, to sit in one of the numerous pavement cafés and simply just watch the world pass by. Return to the boat for lunch and an afternoon cruise to St. Jean de Losne, the barging capital of France. Take some time this evening or early tomorrow to stroll around the port and see the many working and pleasure barges.
 
Wednesday
Visit Beaune, Cruise to Chalon-sur-Saône
Continue to cruise the peaceful valley of the River Saône downstream to Seurre. Today, lunch is taken at the Levernois estate next to Beaune. In the afternoon, discover Beaune, the capital of the wine region of Burgundy. Enjoy a visit to the famous Hôtel-Dieu, a magnificent 15 th century charity hospital, and a private wine tasting. There is time to enjoy the charming shops and old streets of Beaune before returning to the barge in Chalon sur Saone, an important and attractive riverside town.
 
Thursday
Cruise to Rully, Visit Château de Germolles
The barge cruises leaves the River Saône by clearing the lock to enter the Canal du Centre. Back in the canal environment you may disembark the barge at a lock, bicycle alongside or walk and keep up with the pace of the barge. After lunch, visit the Château de Germolles, the only remaining residence of the Dukes of Burgundy for a private tour with the owner. Tonight it is back to a countryside mooring in Rully.
 
Friday
Visit Couches and the Château de Marguerite de Bourgogne, Cruise to St. Léger
A leisurely cruise takes us to St Léger, another quaint village along the Canal du Centre which is our final destination. Your guide takes you to the stunning 12th century Château de Marguerite de Bourgogne in Couches, for a tour of the magnificent buildings set amongst the vines and an insight into life in the middle ages. Meanwhile the chef is busy preparing your Farewell gala dinner on board.

Cycling Cruise - Dijon to St Leger

Monday
Cruise to Longecourt, Visit Château de Longecourt 
This morning enjoy your first cruise on the canal. Once moored in Longecourt visit the Chateau de Longecourt which has been owned by the same family since 1631. It has been beautifully decorated through the centuries and is rich in history. Some ‘graffiti’ can be found in the stables, left behind by the American pilots who stayed there during World War II. If the Count is in residence, he will give you a personal tour of his property. Cycling Option: depart the boat just after Dijon at Ouges (approx 11 am) and cycle to Longecourt. There are no restaurants on this section, so the chef would prepare a picnic. Meet the group at the Chateau and join the others for the tour and then cycle to the boat moored near by.
 
Tuesday
Visit Dijon, Cruise to St. Jean de Losne
After breakfast, enjoy a walking tour of Dijon including a visit to the market, the Grey Poupon mustard shop and the Ducal Palace.  There will be some free time for shopping or perhaps to sit in one of the numerous pavement cafes and simply just watch the world go by. Return to the boat for lunch and an afternoon cruise to St. Jean de Losne, the barging capital of France.  Take some time this evening or early tomorrow to stroll around the port and see the many working and pleasure barges. Cycling Option: This afternoon there would be approx 20 km ride to St Jean de Losne from Longecourt.  There are a few bars and restaurants in St Jean, many facing the river Saone. Cycling Option: The distance between St Jean and Beaune is approx 40 kms, so a longer ride into Beaune for keen riders.  After lunch and the tour, transfer to Chalon sur Saone in the minibus. 
 
Wednesday
Visit Beaune, Cruise to Chalon-sur-Saône 
Continue to cruise the peaceful valley of the River Saône downstream to Seurre. Today, lunch is taken at the famous Relais & Chateaux hotel at Levernois. In the afternoon, discover Beaune, the capital of the wine region of Burgundy. Enjoy a visit to the famous Hôtel-Dieu, Hospice de Beaune and a wine tasting.   Later, your guide takes you on a walking tour of the pedestrian area in Chalon-sur-Saône, the last of the Burgundian style river towns.
 
Thursday
Cruise to Rully, Visit Château de Germolles
The barge cruise leaves the River Saône by clearing the lock to enter the Canal du Centre. Back in the canal environment you may disembark the barge at a lock, bicycle alongside or walk and keep up with the pace of the barge. After lunch, visit the Château de Germolles, the only remaining residence of the Dukes of Burgundy. Tonight it is back to a countryside mooring in Rully.
Cycling Option: From Fragnes (approx 11 am) cycle to Rully. There is a lovely restaurant in the centre of Rully called Le Vendangerot with a terrace overlooking the square which would be ideal for a late lunch. Then meet the group for the tour of Château de Germolles.
 
Friday

Golf Cruise - Escommes to Dijon

Welcome Aboard!
Depart Paris, Gare de Lyon, on the TGV train in the afternoon. On arrival at Dijon station you are met by the Afloat in France guide who escorts you on your transfer to Escommes where you board the barge for your cruise through Burgundy. A champagne reception welcomes you on board and gives you a chance to meet the crew.  A cocktail cruise introduces you to the delights of cruising. Later that evening enjoy your first dining experience on board.
 
Monday
Golf. Cruise to Pont d’Ouche
 Visit Chateau de Pommard. After breakfast, drive to Chateau de Chailly, this beautiful Chateau provides a fabulous back drop to their 18 hole golf course, or alternatively enjoy your first day cruising on the Canal de Bourgogne. Small-unspoiled villages and green, forested hills provide the traveler with exceptional views from the deck. This afternoon, visit the Château of Pommard, a stunning building dating from 1726 and surrounded by its own vineyard. You will have the chance to visit its exceptional cellar and sample its wines.
 
Tuesday
Cruise to La Bussière
Visit Beaune and Golf. Relax on-board this morning as the barge cruises towards the charming village of La Bussière. After another delicious lunch your guide escorts you to Beaune, capital of the Burgundy wine producing region, for a visit to the famous Hôtel-Dieu, Hospice de Beaune. Alternatively, play a round of golf at Levernois, just 10 minutes drive from Beaune. It is an 18 hole golf course with a par of 72, and has a practice range and a putting green. Tonight’s mooring is at another canal-side village, La Bussiere sur Ouche.
 
Wednesday
Cruise to Gissey
Visit l’Abbaye de La Bussière.
Mid-morning, your guide takes you on a tour of l’Abbaye de la Bussière built in the 12th century under the guidance of the Cistercian monks from Citeaux. After a stroll in the grounds we have our lunch here. After lunch your guide takes you to visit Chateauneuf-en-Auxois a medieval hill-top village. This is followed by a tour of the stunning surrounding countryside, and the opportunity to see the entrance to the 2 mile long canal tunnel and the largest of the reservoirs which feed the Burgundy canal.
 
Thursday
Golf. Cruise to Fleurey-sur-Ouche
Visit Clos de Vougeot. This morning there is the chance to play golf in Dijon, there is an 18 hole course with a par of 72. This course is very well maintained, with reasonably flat terrain and has lovely views. The boat continues cruises through the Côte d’Or an area producing some of the world’s most famous wines. . After lunch, your guide takes you to visit “Clos de Vougeot”, a medieval château surrounded by vineyards. This is the headquarters of the Chevaliers du Tastevin, whose special label is awarded annually to the finest Côte d’Or vintages. On your way back to the barge, enjoy a wine tasting in Vougeot.
 
Friday
Visit Dijon
Cruise to Dijon. After breakfast, your guide takes you on a walking tour of Dijon, to visit the Ducal Palace, the market, and the Grey Poupon mustard shop. Return to the boat for lunch and the afternoon’s cruise. The barge moors for the night in Dijon’s Port du Canal, a short distance from the town centre. Meanwhile the chef is preparing a gala dinner for your last evening on board.
