Chertsey Base
Penton Hook Marina is set in 80 acres and is Britain’s largest inland marina. It is situated on one of the loveliest stretches of the River Thames, close to Chertsey and about a mile downstream from Runnymede where King John signed the Magna Carta. The location is a perfect starting point for a boating vacation on the Thames; cruise upstream to Windsor and our base at Benson, near Oxford, passing through picturesque towns and villages en-route, or cruise downstream to the chic shopping centre of Kingston-upon-Thames, the world famous botanical gardens at Kew and Hampton Court Palace, former royal residence of King Henry VIII.
MDL Penton Hook Marina offers toilets, showers, laundry facilities, WiFi access and secure parking.

Please note that during the period of March 17 - June 16, fresh water fishing is not allowed on any waterway in England and Northern Ireland.

From the M25, exit at Junction 11 and take the route that is signposted A320 Woking at the end of the dual carriageway. Turn right at the roundabout, which is signposted A320 Chertsey/Staines. As an extra guide you can follow the brown signs for Thorpe Park. Continue to follow the signs A320/Thorpe Park. This will take you through Chertsey and onto a dual carriageway with the Twynersh Pub on your left. Continue on the dual carriageway, going over the M3. This brings you to another roundabout. Thorpe Park is on your left. At this roundabout, turn right up Mixnams Lane and at the end take the left hand fork, which will take you into Penton Hook Marina.

MOBILE PHONES
In Belgium most of the locks and bridges are manned. Some of the bridge keepers operate several bridges and may not be on their bridge at the time of your arrival. To get around Brugge, you have to get in touch by phone with the people who operate the whole system of bridges and locks around Brugge from a central control.
If you do not have your own mobile phone or have a phone, which does not work abroad, you can rent one at the base.

The base will supply the phone with cards and the credit on the card is checked at departure and arrival. You will be asked to pay on return for what has been used.

Messac Base

The Messac base is situated on the Vilaine River, and just a bridge away from the bustling town of Guipry on the other side of the river. The town houses some interesting local churches and has some lovely country tracks perfect for taking a walk and discovering the natural beauty of the region. Messac is also claimed by some to be the place where the abbot Vincent Cawiesel planted potatoes for the first time in France in 1771. Today the town is classified as a ‘green tourist station’ thanks to its excellent tourist and sporting facilities.

BEFORE YOU LEAVE
Le Boat will be happy to arrange transfers from your arrival point to the base and can also do your food and drink shopping to stock up your boat before you arrive. Please complete our Taxi Transfer form and email, fax or post it back to the base at least 14 days prior to departure. The base receptionist will contact you directly to confirm details of your transfer.
