Here are some comments and reviews from our clients that booked with The Barge Connection.

Hi Crystal,
Thank you so much for your help booking our barge trip.....it was a blast!  The region was so beautiful; we enjoyed the mix of country villages and the larger cities of Saverne and Strassbourg.  The boat was great too.  Very clean and comfortable for 7 of us....plenty of space for all.  We would definitely do it again and would recommend it to others.
Thanks again for helping us to have a very enjoyable vacation!

I just returned from a week on the ATHOS on Canal du Midi and it was superb. Everything was well planned, the crew was so friendly and helpful, food exceptional. A delightful and relaxing vacation. Look forward to working with you again for the next barge cruise. Betty Foster - May 2012 - Athos

Best vacation ever!  The boat and crew were perfect. Rarely do you get the opportunity to say you got your monies worth. The crew was super nice andcomments_02extremelyhelpful.  The food was heavenly.  Our chef, Katie, walked  us through all the meals and even shared recipes and techniques with us.  I am a foodie after all!  And our first mate, Ingrid was friendly, knowlegeable, and had a great sense of humor.  Aoife was extremely attentive.  Knowledeable and informative about the wines and also had a great sense of humor! Finally, Manuel, our Captain, was super!!!  He took the time to teach us about the locks and techniques of barging and was eager to share a laugh with us.  We are already talking about going again next year.  Cheers, Woody Hudson - August 2012 - Art de Vivre

We really enjoyed the Caprice -  the arrangements in picking us up at the Dijon station went very well.
The barge was very nice and accommodations were good - clean at all times
The food, wine and all the excursions were wonderful - very informative
Can't think of anything that could be improved.
The crew was absolutely great - all of them were very attentive and friendly, the excursions with Marilyn were very informative and fun.
The Barge Connection in doing our booking was great.  Crystal was very helpful in assisting me with all my questions.
We would love to go on another Barge cruise, my husband would love to to the Bordeaux region.

Papillon_CruisingDear Crystal,
OK, the Papillon trip was one of the best vacations I've had. We have just returned from our six wonderful days aboard the Papillon and I just wanted to thank you,  From start to finish, it was a dream vacation.  We were met right at 1pm by Jean-Marie and enjoyed a leisurely drive to the Chateau than the boat.  The meals were delicious from the coq au vin on Monday night to the fresh fruit prepared this morning by Emma.  She also altered some meals to appease one of my finicky boys (who doens't like cheese but loved the escargot!)  Sarah was the perfect guide--not only did she know her "stuff" but she had a way of cajoling a few of the more reluctant members of our family into joining us on every excursion.  Barbara went out of her way as hostess to make us feel comfortable and at home.  Not only were there fantastically shaped napkins at each dinner, but she prepared a Halloween themed dining room, complete w/masks and a jack-o-lantern.  But above and beyond that, she placed candies in the boys' cabins.  They all said she did more than I ever would have for Halloween and, unfortunately (or fortunately?) they are right! Thank you so much! Liz Mockapetris - Oct 2012 - Family Barge Cruise on Le Papillon

We enjoyed thoroughly and would go barging again. We like getting off and bike riding and eating dinners in the towns, not the boat. Absolutely pleased with Captain and crew. Top notch. Thanks for your help in finding an excursion that fit our small window of availability. Grant Young - June 2012 - Savoir Vivre

Thank you so much for our wonderful vacation. It was everything you said it was—and more. Jennifer Borg - August 2012 - Art de Vivre

The barge was an experience of a lifetime on the Emma. We were really happy with your service and would recommend it to anyone considering a barge adventure. I will forward your name  to anyone whoBarges_Morred_in_S_Franceisconsidering a barge cruise. We would love to go on another barge cruise. We would probably take the same trip, as we liked it so much. Regards, Jim and Elaine Christian - July 2012 - Emma

Hi Crystal
We really enjoyed the barge cruise on the Renaissance, and what made it so great was the crew - not to forget the boat which was wonderful - as all five of them did everything in their power to make every minute convenient, comfortable, edible and sociable. They were great!  That said, it was a totally relaxing way to see the Loire countryside, stopping to visit little charming villages and big chateaux.  Although my wife had some difficulty walking, the crew made short walks work well for us; for example while we walked slowly along the tow path one day, the captain slowed the barge down just enough so we could another barge trip in the future and will have that sort of trip in my list of possible travel experiences from now on.  In fact, whenever we are in the right place during another vacation, I'd think about adding a barge cruise to round out the holiday.meet at the next lock and board.  The food and wines were superlative and it's a good thing that I asked the cook for small portions at the outset or I would never have been able to sample everything. Your advance planning worked like a clock; we were met on time at the Westminster and delivered on time at the end of the trip.  I'm  very much inclined to take
Thanks for your assistance. Stan Leibowitz - August 2012 - Renaissance

Crystal, I just realized I never wrote to let you know what a blast we had cruising the canals of the Netherlands!
Once again, thanks for your help. Cheers, Geno Salerno - Oct 2012 - Self Drive Barge Cruise

Elisabeth_2012_-_New_RoutesH Crystal,
It was great. Sheena was the absolute best. The food was out of this world.  We want to go back next summer.  Thanks again. Mary Shauf - September 2012 - Elisabeth

Just wanted to drop you a quick note about our canal barge trip that was nothing short of fantastic.  It was indicated by a couple of the other 8 people on the canal trip that we were pretty brave joining their group sight unseen, but we had a marvelous time with our new friends.  They had been on barge trips before and determined the Savoie Faire was the best crewed, best appointed barge they had been on.  Trip was flawless and the crew was flexible with its itinerary.  We were not interested in touring another chateau on the third day and opted to go into a small, picturesque town that provided wonderful photography.  We took about 500 pictures, about 80 of which covered the barge trip and I have sent them to Captain Chris.  Weather was perfect and, other than not being able to get under a canal bridge for about 40 minutes, uneventful and special. One of the pleasant things that we experienced was that crew member Ruth, and our primary meal server, would present the description of the wines and cheeses that we had each noon and evening.  Sophie, the chef, provided memorable meals that were both delicious and artfully presented.  The boat was clean and very well appointed and all of the crew well versed in the history of the region.  This was a slam dunk 50th wedding celebration.  The week before and the week after the canal trip were spent in Paris, and equally great time.  Thanks for the help on this Crystal, if friends of ours profess an interest in such a trip, we will point them your way.
